Garland McLaurin

Garland McLaurin is a professor at the University of Georgia’s, Department of Entertainment and Media Studies. Garland is a Peabody-Award winning filmmaker; His most recent project prior to co-directing Family Picture USA, is “Pops” an ITVS Digital, Black Public Media and CPB funded digital series. He is a PBS/ITVS Wyncote Fellow 2018, served as an Emmy judge in non-fiction news and documentary in 2017 & 2018. Garland was also a panelist for the IDA Pare Lorentz fund in 2015 and recently the Corporation for Public Broadcasting’s Jacquie Jones Memorial Fund in 2019. He also served as a judge for the South Carolina Educational Television US Public Television Input committee in 2016 & 2017.
