Before Family Pictures USA airs in its entirety on PBS, (August 12 and 13, 2019), we hope you’ll join us and the Detroit Historical Society for a special screening of portions of episodes filmed in Detroit, Southwest Florida, and North Carolina, featuring the local families who shared their family stories with us in Summer 2017.
The fun begins at 7pm and all are invited to explore the Detroit Historical Museum, opportunities to share your family stories, and food vendors, with a formal program starting at 8:30pm. The film will start after dark (around 9:30 pm) on the south facing wall of the Detroit Historical Museum on Legend’s Plaza (at the corner of Woodward Ave & Kirby St.)
This event is free and open to the public, but reservations are encouraged. This partnership was formed in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of July 1967 Detroit and the Detroit Historical Society’s Detroit 67: Looking Back to Move Forward community engagement initiative.
