Josh Granger is foremost an editor, but has also worked as a director, writer, producer, creative director. He is the founder of Hitman Productions, where he edited and produced numerous TV programs (for A&E, National Geographic, BBC America, etc). Hitman has also produced award-winning promos and trailers (for TLC, FX, Sundance TV, TNT, AMC, etc), and produces short fiction films, which feature online at filmshortage.com and other sites.
Josh is also founder and creative director of Hitman’s non-profit arm, Helpman Productions. Through Helpman, with partner Maxine Trump, he has edited and produced social issue documentaries for various non-profits, such as Greenpeace, the Forest Stewardship Council, 350.org, and Green Market. Their work has been supported by Patagonia Environmental Grants, the Wilburforce Foundation and the McIntosh Foundation.
Helpman also produced the award-winning feature documentary, Musicwood, which has screened in film festivals, cinemas, television channels and universities worldwide. A New York Times Critics’ Pick, Musicwood is currently available through digital streaming services (iTunes, Amazon, etc). Helpman’s current projects include the feature docs To Kid or Not Kid (2018 release) and Eternal Amnesia (2019 projected release).
